While there were several differences between the North and the South, the issues related to slavery increasingly divided the nation and led to the Civil War.


North-- They thought Slavery should be abolished

south-- They thought slaves were nessesary and they were needed


2. Cultural Issues0
They could not agree on Social or Political Issues

North--The North was Urban so they had jobs

South--They South was a Rural (country) area, So they farmed


3. Economic issues
They were different in the ways they made money (economic)

North--The North was a Manufactering region, they favored Tariffs, which protects factory owners from foreign competition

South--The South opposed Tariffs, Planters consern-England would stop buying their cotton



4. Constutional Issues

North--Strong Central Covernment

South--States' Rights
